Pre-Care for Injectables

Immediately
• Stay well-hydrated.
• Eat nutrient-rich meals to support recovery.
• Avoid blood-thinning agents such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E (unless prescribed).
First 24 hrs
• You may apply arnica cream if prone to bruising (check with clinic).
• Limit alcohol and caffeine as they can increase bleeding/bruising risk.
24–48 hrs
• Maintain healthy skin hygiene.
• Confirm your appointment and ask any questions.
• Avoid intensive facial treatments (e.g., peels, microdermabrasion, lasers).
48–72 hrs
• Get a good night’s sleep and stay well-hydrated.
• Avoid alcohol, intense exercise, or saunas.
1–2 weeks
• Come in with a clean, makeup-free face.
• Eat a light meal to avoid faintness.
• Don’t wear makeup to your appointment.
• Avoid scheduling other facial procedures on the same day.

Post Care for Injectables

Recommended Actions Things to Avoid
Immediately (0–4 hrs)
• Stay upright; gentle facial movements are fine.
• Apply a cool compress gently if any swelling occurs.
• No rubbing, massaging, or pressing on the treated areas.
• Do not lie flat or bend forward for prolonged periods.
First 24 hrs
• Keep skin clean and makeup-free if possible.
• Use a mild cleanser and pat dry.
• Drink plenty of water.
• Strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, or anything that raises your heart rate significantly.
• Alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish-oil or vitamin E supplements (they can worsen bruising).
24–48 hrs
• Sleep slightly elevated to minimise swelling.
• Continue gentle cleansing and a light, fragrance-free moisturiser.
• Saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga or very hot showers.
• Facial treatments, waxing, or exfoliating products (retinol, AHAs/BHAs).
48–72 hrs
• Light exercise is usually fine if swelling has settled.
• Apply SPF 30+ daily to protect healing skin.
• Firm facial massage or skin-tightening devices on treated areas.
1–2 weeks
• Expect minor swelling or bruising to resolve; cover with mineral makeup if desired.
• Monitor symmetry and movement as products integrate.
• Additional facial procedures (peels, lasers, microneedling) unless cleared by your practitioner.

When to contact your practitioner

Severe or worsening pain, redness, or swelling beyond 3 days
Blanching or mottled skin colour changes
Puffy eyelids or visual disturbance
Any signs that feel out of the ordinary to you
A short follow-up review (typically at 2 weeks) is standard to assess results and make minor adjustments if needed.
